A Little About Me
My name is Ajaz Qureshi, and I’m a British South Asian writer, teacher, and artist from the North of England. I’ve spent my life working with words—reading, writing, teaching, and editing them. I hold a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing and an MA in Creative Practice with a specialism in Cultural Identity and Poetry, graduating with distinction. I’m also a CELTA-certified teacher through Cambridge University.
I am a traditionally published author (Full Nelson) and have been commissioned to produce pieces of writing for print and public display, radio, screen, and stage for many years. I’ve worked with organisations big and small, from Arts Council England to local arts companies and schools. My work has been displayed and performed internationally, from New York to Riyadh. And, indeed, my editing journey has been as varied as my writing journey. I am currently the director of To Whom Editorial, a writing, teaching, and mentorship company. I run local writing workshops and support local writers, creatives, institutions and schools. I am also the editor of a hyperlocal magazine, The Burnley ViewPoint. which deals with local stories by local people.
